The building is very comfortable and the rooms are decent sized and compact with heater, outdoor public bath, for example. The hotel boasts very central location near the post office...

The position was magnificent, walk from a train station. There was a hill and a river walking distance to the place.

The room was decent size, had a beautiful view. Also, location was favourable and unbeatable, within a close distance from a daily market. Besides, it was close to the outlying areas/mountains, the train station and the older part of town and restaurants...

The onsen seems pretty nice and the room were pretty decent in size. One of the better looking hotels compared to the rest in takayama.
The hotel does not provide a computer down the lobby nor have free wifi. So unless you have your own pc to connect in the room, you won't have any free wifi service or Internet on your iPhones or mobile devices.

Lovely onsen on top floor - hotel modern (3 yrs old) and very bright
When you book a 'standard double room' through Booked.net you are actually allocated a single room by the hotel. This has a 140cm bed - to get a proper double (as described on the hotel's own website) you need to pay an additional 3000 yen at check-in to upgrade.

Hotel is about 5 minutes walk from the train station. Room is comfortable clean and good size. Very convenient to eateries and the town main tourist area. Hotel has a onsen (separate rooms for men and women) on the top floor. And there is an outdoor onsen connected to the main room. When we were there it snowed. It was a thrilling experience to be sitting in the outdoor onsen with snow flakes falling from the sky onto your face! We requested for a high floor room and were pleasantly surprised when the room acceded to our request. Breakfast is an additional Yen 1200 per pax. Must visit the morning market for local fruits (apples and grapes) The market is not big maybe about 20 stalls. Must also make a trip to Shirakawago from Takayama.

Location is convenient, just a couple of minutes walk from the railway station. The hotel is very clean, functional and quiet. Fine for what it is, but without frills.
The water in the onsen (public bath) was not hot enough. The hotel charges to park a car. The price is a bit much for two people, and you can find cheaper if you don't mind not having a lukewarm onsen. Also the breakfast is overpriced at Y1,200.
Tourists from South Africa often stay at these properties. Ideas for your future trips.
